At the beginning of April, my boss, Jamie, and I met up with four of our photographer friends, whom we all met through various boudoir photography associations, and spent five glorious days together at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico!
Julie, Jen, Tamara, and Elizabeth all agreed to let me take some photos of them with my Pentax 6×7 and Canon EF 35mm film cameras. Unfortunately, I waited until the second-to-last evening and the very last day of our trip to organize these little photo shoots, but they were all still very good sports about it, sunburns and all!
As mentioned in my blog post about this trip, I was actually rather nervous while photographing these ladies because they are all very talented boudoir photographers themselves, and I have yet to achieve technical perfection with my film photography. As you can see from some of these images, I am still having trouble nailing that manual focus, and I also under-exposed a few because I didn’t account for the bright backgrounds that were behind my subjects. All that being said, though, I did learn a few things from shooting these images, and the girls said they were very pleased with their photos, and that’s really what it’s all about. 🙂
