Miss C is a client from work, whom we have photographed several times. Not only has she paid for a couple of boudoir sessions, but we have called upon her to model for us for portfolio builds a couple of times, as well. She has such an incredible look (I just LOVE her freckles!), and I knew I wanted her to be my model when I did my first proper test shoot with my “new” Pentax 6×7 MLU medium format camera and 105mm f/2.4 SMC Takumar lens.
Before I started shooting with the Pentax, though, I first had a roll of 35mm film that I needed to finish shooting. (I had taken just a handful of selfies on this roll while my boss and I were in Las Vegas a few weeks prior.) I decided to shoot the majority of the 35mm shots with my 24mm lens because I wanted to see as much of the room around her as possible. After all, we were shooting in our new studio space, and I’m pretty excited about these new sets!
After I finished the roll of 35mm film with my Canon EF camera, I was able to switch over to the Pentax 6×7 MLU. I shot one roll of b&w photos on Kodak TriX400 film, and the rest of the photos I shot in color on Kodak Ektar100 and Kodak Portra400 film. I was on pins and needles and checking my email every 20 minutes for the next two days as I awaited my film scans from Boutique Film Lab.
Finally, on Tuesday morning, I received my email from the lab and, in a nutshell, I am BLOWN AWAY by the images I got with the Pentax. Like, beyond excited and in love with this camera now. In fact, I just ordered two more boxes of 120 film this morning because I’m planning on taking the 6×7 with me to Cancun next week!
Anyway, first check out these images of the stunningly gorgeous Miss C that I took with the Canon EF 35mm camera on Kodacolor200 film:
